We spent Christmas Eve with Scott's family in Benicia. We had a great time visiting, eating, watching the kids being crazy, playing games, etc. We missed Dave and Mark's families. Next year, maybe? It was so fun watching the cousins get to know each other better. Thanks Gary and Vivian.
Ada and Maggie play so well together. We also went up the day after Christmas and spent some time at a park. This park has a huge cement slide and those two girls spent almost the entire time running up the stairs and doing crazy tricks down the slide. They would crash into each other and just laugh.
The face tells you enough, right? That table cloth was taken off soon after I took this picture. That little one almost knocked the table over a couple of times during dinner.
A little down time (and break for the parents) before we opened some presents.
Tired faces. These kids played hard.
Ivy's idea of frosting cookies is putting a little dab on the cookies and a big glob in her mouth. So gross. Major sugar high after this activity. We left well after bedtime to go home and it took both girls a long time to fall asleep.
Sweet girls!
Disgusting, right?
Chad joined us for the day and even though he was a little uncomfortable at times, it was nice having him with us.
It's fun when the brothers get together. They all have the same laugh so it's hard not to chuckle when they start laughing about something. It was such a fun day and we are so glad that we were able to go!

Whoa. You still blog? I thought it was just me and Emily anymore!
Cute girls. Looks like you guys had fun.
Nice Topless Picture by the Savage University blog on your sidebar, by the way. Naked yoga! :P
The instagrams from those few days killed me! So much fun, we were really wishing we could be there. We have made the goal for 2014 to get to Benicia no matter what. I haven't been in 7 years. Tragic. Isaac still talks about that cement slide!
We've got you beat, Em. We haven't been since 2002 - 12 years! Crazy how time flies!
We went out there several times while dating and newly married. Heck, I even went to visit while Mark was on his mission! We also went out for Doug and Jenny's wedding and then again to surprise Gary on Father's Day when Kate was 2. We haven't been there since. Can you believe that?!? It's so expensive!
We made such a HUGE effort to get out to the 2009 family reunion in Vernal, and even extended the trip to see Greg and Jessica and you guys and Michael along the way, and everyone else at the reunion. We did a bunch of medical school rotations in Utah and saw extended family members then, too. We've been to FL to see Lindsay and Scott and they've been here, too. And we had Michael for that summer after the reunion. David came and saw us when he was on business - that was so cool. I'm glad for all those trips/visits.
We'd love to get out to CA as a family sometime, but I don't know when. I love visiting San Francisco - we're excited to take them both there and to Benicia sometime. Time FLIES. Kate can start college in a little as two years! I feel like, as kids get older, it's a balancing act between trips/visits and saving for college/retirement (ha!). Looking back over the years, we've all had the challenge of raising families during a big recession - I think it's all affected us in one way or another.
Dude, I've written a book in this comment! Anyway, point is - time flies. It's fun when everyone gets together for reunions, but it makes me sad that we're not all in better touch between those times. Thank goodness for blogs! I say it all the time, but I'm SO glad you blog - I feel like I know what's up with you guys (and hopefully vice versa) better!
