Merry Christmas

I had my Christmas post all written, and then my crappy laptop shut down and that was that. We had a great Christmas. Scott and I like to stretch things out as much as possible. So, we started off the morning with our second annual massive breakfast burrito breakfast. The girls were a little underwhelmed and had already forgotten about Christmas. Ha. Once we were done eating, I asked Ada if she knew what was behind the family room door. Then it all clicked. She got super excited and charged for the room.
The morning started off with "pet hats" and pillow pets. The girls loved them. Well, Ada loved them. Ivy was just following Ada's lead. She has not connected to her pillow pet like Ada has.

It was fun watching the girls "help" all of us open our gifts. Ada was great because every present that was opened, she made such a big deal about. She kept saying, "This is the best Christmas ever!" I vaguely remember saying similar things when I was around 5. I remember my brother and I looking up into the heavens (In the early AM), hugging our present, and saying, "Thank-you Santa!"

Ivy loves Minnie Mouse. She has played with this stuffed animal maybe once!
Sno-Cone maker! I haven't used it yet, but am excited to.

Ivy destroyed her Belle's hair within an hour and then she has been trying to destroy Ada's Ariel since.

Anytime we ask Ada what she wants to be when she grows up she says, " A soccer player and babysitter." We will see if that changes after she plays soccer this fall

All she asked for was a Doc McStuffins kit, which I find funny because she rarely watches the show!
Over-actor
Chad scored big Christmas Morning. He always ends up with a crazy amount of gifts.

So, every Christmas, for the past 5 years, I have been knitting scarves. I apologize to those first receivers because I have come a long way since then. In fact, if you haven't already, throw it away and I will make you a new one. I have a goal to learn a different knit this year and really change things up! I am proud to say that Scott wears his scarf everyday!
We spent the rest of the day eating, lounging around, going to the park (it was a beautiful day) and playing games.  What a great day!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Scott's family in Benicia. We had a great time visiting, eating, watching the kids being crazy, playing games, etc. We missed Dave and Mark's families. Next year, maybe? It was so fun watching the cousins get to know each other better. Thanks Gary and Vivian.
Ada and Maggie play so well together. We also went up the day after Christmas and spent some time at a park. This park has a huge cement slide and those two girls spent almost the entire time running up the stairs and doing crazy tricks down the slide. They would crash into each other and just laugh.
The face tells you enough, right? That table cloth was taken off soon after I took this picture. That little one almost knocked the table over a couple of times during dinner.
A little down time (and break for the parents) before we opened some presents.
Tired faces. These kids played hard.
Ivy's idea of frosting cookies is putting a little dab on the cookies and a big glob in her mouth. So gross. Major sugar high after this activity. We left well after bedtime to go home and it took both girls a long  time to fall asleep.
 Sweet girls!
 Disgusting, right?
Chad joined us for the day and even though he was a little uncomfortable at times, it was nice having him with us.
It's fun when the brothers get together. They all have the same laugh so it's hard not to chuckle when they start laughing about something. It was such a fun day and we are so glad that we were able to go!
